101 Boxes Packed for OCC

Although it's been a few months since I've posted a blog on our Operation Christmas Child project, we've been hard at work! After collecting items all year, we held our annual packing party a few weeks ago and packed 101 shoeboxes! That's 101 kids who will receive a Christmas present this year and hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. And not only that! Each box requires $9 to ship to their final destination (which if you think about, is next to nothing considering where these boxes go). We were able to raise all the money needed to ship these 101 boxes. What a blessing!

Through the Operation Christmas Child project, we can all help brighten the lives of children around the world as we share with them the true meaning of Christmas - the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As God provides, Samaritan's Purse is preparing to send shoebox gifts to 12 million children this year in more than 100 countries around the world. Local churches will hand out these gifts where the entire community is invited and everyone has a chance to hear and respond to the Gospel.

It is such a blessing to be part of this ministry and not only provide for the physical needs of these families, but more importantly, their spiritual needs. Each box is a missionary, set out to preach God's Word  to the hearts of these kids. Each box is a soul, the soul of a child given the opportunity to learn about how much Jesus loves them and invite them to spend eternity in Heaven. Our 2018 planning efforts have already begun and we're praying to make an even bigger impact on kids around the world. Would you join us in this effort? There is no greater feeling.

Well done!

Christopher
